Privacy Notice
Effective September 26, 2026
GappyGap is a free one-tap game for kids and grown-ups, operated by PATENT SOLVE LLC ("we"). We built it to collect as little as possible. This notice explains exactly what happens to information when you or your child plays.
- No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Scores and progress stay on the player's own device. We never receive them.
- No chat, and nothing a player does is posted publicly.
- We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't show ads of any kind.
- You can erase everything GappyGap saved on this device with one button.
- GappyGap is for people in the United States only.
1. What stays on the device
The game saves these things in the browser's storage on the phone, tablet or computer being used:
- progress, best scores, Journey stars, Daily results and streaks, and Collection unlocks
- settings, such as sound, Assist and whether to send a picture with challenges
- the name typed when sending a challenge, and player names typed for Party mode
- the player's own challenge results, and which tips and messages have already been shown
- a copy of our list of blocked names, stored as scrambled codes
- playtest statistics: a random tester number, number of runs, days played, and answers to an optional three-question survey
None of this is sent to us. We can't see it. It's removed if you clear your browser's website data or use the erase button below.
2. Friend challenges
When a player taps Challenge a friend, the game builds a link. The link holds the name the player typed (letters only, up to 12), their score, the course number, and a record of their taps so the friend's device can check the score is real. A reply link also carries up to two earlier names and scores from the same challenge.
All of that sits in the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to any website, including ours.
The game can also make a picture of the result to send with the link. It's drawn on the device and shows the score. On a reply, it may show the first name of the friend who sent the challenge. It never shows the sender's own name.
The player decides who gets a challenge, using their own messaging app. Once sent, the message is handled by that app (for example, Messages or WhatsApp) under its own privacy policy. We never receive challenge links or pictures.
Tip for families: use a first name or a fun name (the 🎲 button makes one). Never use a full name, phone number or address. The game blocks numbers, links, swear words and slurs in names, and replaces a blocked name that arrives in a challenge link with a fun one.
3. What our host sees
GappyGap is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. As with every website, the servers that deliver the page receive the visiting device's IP address and basic browser details (a type of "persistent identifier").
Why: Cloudflare uses this only to deliver the game to the device and to protect the site from attacks and abuse. These are the only internal operations it's used for.
The contact page also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending the form. It runs only on that page, never in the game.
The game itself doesn't use cookies. To keep bots out, Cloudflare's security features block known AI crawlers, may briefly challenge a visit that looks automated, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie that helps tell people apart from bots. None of this is used for tracking or advertising.
How we make sure this isn't used for anything else: we don't add analytics, advertising, social-media or tracking code, and we keep Cloudflare's visitor analytics and request logging turned off. Our Cloudflare account shows overall totals, such as the number of visits, and Cloudflare's security tools may show details, such as an IP address, about requests they block as attacks. We look at those only to protect the site. We never export IP addresses, combine them with other information, or use them to identify, contact, profile or advertise to anyone. Blocking abuse: if someone abuses GappyGap or the contact form, we can block them. Our block list may hold an IP address, the scrambled code from a contact-form message, or an email address. A blocked network can't open the game or send the form. We also keep a list of names that aren't allowed, for example a name used to pick on someone. The game downloads that list as scrambled codes so it can refuse those names; nothing about the player is sent when it does.
United States only: GappyGap is offered only to people in the United States and its territories. Cloudflare tells the site which country a visit comes from, based on the connection, and visits from other countries see a "not available" page instead of the game. That check happens as the page loads and nothing is saved. If you're outside the United States, please don't use GappyGap or send us information.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: GappyGap doesn't track visitors over time or across other websites, and no outside company can use GappyGap to do that. So we treat every visit as if Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is turned on; there's nothing for those signals to switch off.
4. If you contact us
Our contact form asks who's writing, what it's about, an email address so we can reply, an optional first name, and the message. It's stored in a database in our Cloudflare account so we can keep track of it and answer it, and a copy is emailed to us. Each form message is also stored with a scrambled code made from the sender's network address. The code can't be turned back into the address, and we use it only to block abuse (see section 3). If you write, email or leave a voicemail instead, we receive your contact details and whatever you send. Either way, we use it only to reply.
If a player under 13 contacts us, we use their email address only to reply once, and then delete the message and address. Form messages marked as coming from a player under 13 are deleted automatically within a day after we answer, and within 30 days even if we haven't.
During testing, adult testers may choose to send us a screenshot of the in-game Playtest summary. It shows a random tester number, the type of device (iPhone, Android or computer) and game statistics such as runs, best score and survey answers. It doesn't include names. Please have a parent send it, not a child.
5. Children under 13
GappyGap is designed so we don't collect personal information from children. There are no accounts, no chat, no public profiles and no behavioral advertising, and a child can't make personal information public through the game. Challenge names and scores go only where the player sends them.
If we ever add features that would collect personal information from children, such as accounts or online races, we'll update this notice first and get a parent's verifiable consent before collecting anything from a child under 13.
6. How long information is kept (our data retention policy)
We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason we have it, and never indefinitely.

7. Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share personal information with anyone. The only outside companies involved are Cloudflare, for hosting, security, the contact form's human check and storing contact-form messages, and our email and phone service providers, which carry and store messages you send us. If the law requires us to provide information we hold, we'll follow the law.
8. Teens and adults
Everyone gets the same protections. We don't sell data, profile players or show targeted ads to anyone, at any age.
9. Security
Because there are no accounts and no database of players, there's no stored collection of player information to lose. Contact-form messages are kept in our Cloudflare account, which only we can reach. We protect the accounts we use, for hosting and email, with strong passwords and two-step sign-in.
10. Your choices, and erasing your data
A parent can ask us at any time what information we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, or tell us not to collect any more. Anyone who has contacted us can also ask to see, correct or delete what they sent. Just contact us below; there's never a charge.
Because the game keeps its data on your device, you can also delete it yourself right now. This removes GappyGap's progress, scores, unlocks, names and settings from this device and browser only. It can't be undone.
11. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects information from children, we'll notify parents and get consent where the law requires it.
